NC State Tailgate Information

Greetings Nole Fans!

I’m sure everyone enjoyed the exciting game against the team from southern Florida. I can certainly see the progress being made especially on offense under Rick Trickett and Jimbo Fisher. Look for the team to continue to improve but occasionally make mistakes considering the massive amount of young players playing critical roles on the team this year. The future is bright with 3 freshmen and 2 sophomore OL, a sophomore QB and a bevy of young skills players. The defense looks good as well under Mickey and Coach Amato.

The Triangle Seminole Club will be hosting the Pre-Game Tailgate party for the NC State Game on Thursday, Oct 16th from 3:30 to 7pm at Party Lot #14. Lot 14 can be found in the lower left hand corner of the map near Outer Loop Road, Edwards Mills Rd and across the street from Cardinal Gibbons school. The area is also known as the Arena West Parking Lots. We will have a grassy area with Tents and 75 Chairs.  Look for the Seminole Feather and Triangle Club signs as well.

There is no cover charge to attend but food and beverages will be available for purchase. NC BBQ from Smokey’s BBQ Shack, baked beans and all the fixings along with Sweet Tea and Water will be available for purchase. While we will not be serving alcohol, NC State does allow beer and wine to be consumed in those areas and you are welcome to BYOB.

We will have raffles for Seminole prizes and CASH! Our new club T-shirts will also be available for purchase. All proceeds from food, beverage, T-shirts and raffles will go to support our annual Scholarship! I’m expecting a visit from the FSU cheerleaders but the band will not be attending this year due to the Thursday night game. There will be at least 1 cornhole game on site and there should be plenty of room for the kids to play so bring a football, picnic blanket or whatever else you enjoy doing while tailgating and enjoy the day mingling with fellow Seminole Fans. I’m still working to secure a DJ as well.

As mentioned previously, *we highly recommend arriving early for this game due the proximity and start of the NC State Fair who share the parking lots with NC State. Parking will be a major challenge for those arriving late*.

If you have trouble locating us give me a call on my cell phone (919-608-9712) but please only use this on game day since I will still need to get work done between now and then ;) Email me with questions before game day as I check this daily.

I will have the block tickets for those of you picking them up that day.* *Please get them from me before 7pm as I intend to enjoy the entire game from inside the stadium.

LASTLY, but very importantly, we will have applications for the FSU NC license plate ready to be filled out. We are more than halfway there. Let’s get this done and show everyone that NC is Seminole Territory!!!!

Special thanks goes to The Seminole Boosters and FSU Alumni Association who picked up the substantial fee for our Party Lot, Tent and Chairs.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the tailgate!

Regards,

Jim Bloomfield

FSU License Plate and the next Game Watching Party…

Greetings Seminole Fans!

I hope you are as excited as I am with the strong start that our Noles have gotten off to. Things will get tougher as the schedule becomes more challenging so there might be some bumps in the road but I’m very confident we are headed in the right direction. Our next game watching party will be for the Miami game on October 4th.

We are excited to be relaunching our efforts to secure an FSU license plate in NC. We have a collaborative effort along with the Charlotte Seminole Club and Triad Seminole Club to make this happen.
To help make this dream become a reality fellow Board Member, Jay Thrash, created a website dedicated to this effort and I’m happy to announce the site is live so check it out!  http://www.ncfsutag.com.

If you have completed an application in the past and paid the $25 fee, rest assured that your money has been kept in a special account specifically for this effort and we have documented who has paid and filled out the application. You may want to update this application with your most recent car information.

The Triangle Seminole Club is offering some incentives for DUES paying members.

*
The Club will pay for your 2nd Car tag upon recieving payment for the 1st car and both applications. So if you have more than 1 vehicle it will be free for you to get FSU tags on all other vehicles registered to your address with a limit up to 5. We don’t have that much money ;)
*
If you have a Carolina Hurricanes, Panther, Bobcat, or other college plate the Club will pay for your new FSU Tag to replace the old plate. Simply send in a completed  application along with a photo of your old team affiliated tag.

I hope that you are as tired as I am seeing Gator plates all over NC. It’s time that Nole fans in NC unite to show our love and pride for FSU.  It’s time to show everyone that NC is Seminole Territory!!

This would be a tremendous accomplishment for the Club that we could all take pride in. Please spread the word to all the Seminole Fans that you know in NC. If we work together we can make this a reality. Let’s make it a goal to reach 300 Applications by the NC State Game on Oct. 16th. More details to come soon on a HUGE Pre-Game tailgate Party. No Tickets have not come in yet.

This would make a nice Christmas or Holiday gift for that Nole fan in your life or maybe even your favorite board member!!!  :)

Feel free to contact me or the link on the website above for questions about this initiative.

Thanks for your support and Go Noles!!!!!

We had a wonderful turnout, and we know it was worth the wait to see the Noles rack up all those points! (69-0) Join us next week for the Tennessee-Chattanooga game at 3:45 PM. This game will only be aired on ESPNU, so may not be available through your home cable provider.

Message from the President - Kickoff Recap, Game Watching Party info and more…

Greetings Nole Fans!

It was great seeing and meeting so many Noles at the Annual Kickoff Picnic  this past Sunday. Former Seminole star Nick Maddox gave a great talk on the  2008 Noles and shared some awesome stories about what it was like to be a  highly recruited athlete and to play for Coach Bowden. The kids had a lot of fun playing on the playground and bashing the Gator helmet pinatas. The big kids had a blast picking from the 20+ Seminole prizes in the raffle. Several other lucky Nole fans got Tickets to FSU home games for well under face value in our silent auction.

I wanted to thank all the people who helped make this year’s picnic a success whether it was board member’s donating their time to make it all happen, club members who donated sweet tea, food, or made additional donations to the club. *The people are what make this club special* and I’m proud to say we have grown about 10%  in membership since the spring.

With all that said, the club depends on it’s membership to support all of our activities. *We receive no financial support from FSU* and no one from the club makes a penny from the hours of work put in . So please if you haven’t done so already send in your updated membership forms with your dues of $20 per individual or $30 for a family. We gladly accept larger donations as well.  This money goes to our picnic, Pre-Game Tailgate (this year’s will be HUGE, more info to come) and game watching party raffle prizes. The Club also attends College Fairs ($100 each) in the Triangle to spread the word about what a magical place Florida State is and sponsors a $1000 scholarship to a local student that attends FSU. One day I’m sure some of your children will be eligible for this great award.

All the information you need to update your membership can be found in the menu on the right. Checks should be made out to the Triangle Seminole Club. Look for more information soon on Game Watching Parties for Western Carolina and Tennessee-Chattanooga, the NC State Pre Game Tailgate, pre ordering the new Club T-Shirt created by Jay Thrash and our revamped efforts to get an FSU NC license plate.

Football season is less than 2 weeks away!!!!

Thanks for *your* support for *our* Club!

Regards!

Jim Bloomfield

2008 Picnic Pictures and Game Watching Party Location…

Thanks to all that made it out to the picnic!  It was great to hear Nick Maddox talk and give some good insight as to what is going on in Tallahassee.

Also, we will be meeting at the Champps located in the Streets Of Southpoint, Durham, NC for the Western Carolina game.  Please see the following page for more information.  We will have some raffle prizes and good fun for all.  Also, if you weren’t able to make the picnic, we will be collecting dues and license plate application.  Please come out and cheer on the Noles!
